I embarked on my artistic journey back in 2019, when my soul was plagued with the regret of not walking in my purpose. I felt so lost and only found solace in art.Â
I began painting and it became a cathartic process, allowing me to release and express everything within me. Painting became a means of connecting with my inner self and exploring the depths of my emotions.
In addition to being an emotional outlet, painting also serves as a way for me to stay connected to my heritage. When I was 8 years old, I moved far away from my home; leaving behind the familiar sights, sounds, and colors that shaped me. Through my artwork, I strive to capture the essence of my heritage, using hues and tones that I find in my grandmother's homes. This fusion of Afro-Indigenous Art reflects the rich tapestry of my roots and celebrates the strength of my ancestors.
